Steam Puzzle (for bathroom or washroom frame)

Postby Jaked » Wed Jun 25, 2008 11:15 pm

Here's something:

Step One: Make a frame showing a sink, mirror, and water taps.
Step 2: PUt hotspots over the taps.
Step 3: Make GIF of code in steam.
Step 4: Put a hotspot on any part of the mirror and make it say, not available unless 'steam_0' is on 1.
Step 5: Make the hot water tap say, if clicked switch 'steam_0' to 1.
Ta-da! Use code with any other puzzle!

Hi there..

I made something like this in my last game..where the user had to run the water full steam and wipe glass to see a letter..but do it a few times..SPelled out a word..but went through frame transitions..Per letter

Only i know i did it the long way...LOL..would be curious to see what it would look like in GIF file..I always forget about GIF files..and theyre so much easier..I drew the actual letters on the frame..

Also would be neat to see something with a magnifying glass...have it get intensified..or only see something when magnifying glass is on it..If you think of it..post it please...lol

One of these days....will have to work on it..

Nice Tutorial..:D

Thanx! I got it from a game about cube-like characters, off-the-wall puzzles, and giant eyes and an evil mother. (Can't recall the name).
Was going to do it in my first game: The Murderer of the Mayan Mask.
Also I'll think about usin' the safe puzzle! The 3 games I'm workin on include any puzzle I can figure out.
My sig changes more often than Doctor Who (see your national BBC channel) regenarates into new melancholy actors. Oh look, Matt Smith! Gerard Butler! Colin Mochrie! That wolf from Twilight: New Moon!

Hmm... A little tweaking in spotlight plugin could make this happen...

Personally, I would love to have all the plug-ins that http://machinarium.net/demo/ uses..magnifying glass..the mini-games already mentioned din the forum..and others...fantastic point and click game.Google it and play it..I ended up buying it ...and it really got me inspired into Googling and finding this site! hehe I don't know if they used AM, but they very well could have!

Everything I see on their site was done with Flash, but it is very impressive!
