Hey guys..
There may be a tutorial on this already..Either way, I thought it would zip up a project with pictures for anyone's usage.
You may want to change the frame itself..using whatever keypad[background] you wanted...
This is a keypad with numbers..1-9 and the numbers have hover-
I put numbers in there; As well as an arrow..
So for new comers..who may want to know how to make an arrow with hover in their games-going right or left.
******
I will explain more on pictures--
First thing; You have to create a picture for each state.
Both--when the mouse enters the hotspot and when it leaves.
If you want it to look seamless--When the mouse enters and leaves;
You need a software designed for layers--Paint.net, Gimp, ect
Where you can work with layers--It's easier..
Make a picture [like a small square] with a solid background or a transparent one--Make it the size you will use in the game itself.
I used a black square for the number/arrow to lay on top of.
Then you create your next picture[layer]--Say- it's arrow going Right.
Place the arrow where you want it on your background--Then-Don't move it.
Make it one color a dark green---Save it--But leave your software open.
Now without moving it---change the color of the arrow to a brighter green-
Re-save it again--SAVEAS--only name it something else now.
For instance the first arrow can be called;
ARROW Darker green
The second arrow can be called;
ARROW_1Lighter Green
Another way of doing this;
Is to do a search on your computer. Do a search for .bmp or .gif
--At this point you will see all the pictures used for any software on your computer--All states of them. Downstates, upstates, hovers, buttons you name it.
Let me know if I forgot something..I made this strictly for using KG and hover purposes..
Enjoy!~
