Postby PINGO TINTO » Fri Feb 24, 2012 3:56 am

This tutorial explains how to make 360 degree panoramic images in SketchUp.
And then use it in the Adventure Maker. http://youtu.be/t4DTrM_7kOo

Nice tutorial! I never saw this!

I was looking for this man! Thanks!

Is there any chance somebody to know how to achieve the Cubic render in Cinema 4D?

Thanks!

I have problem with the plugins! :?

I get these two errors when I try to test a frame with Cubic Panorama plugin followed by your tutorial. Maybe the plugins are old...?

and second error

I'm using AM version 4.7.1. Can you run the cubic panorama plugin and test it without problems? What could be the problem at my side?

Thanks!

There are two ways that I know of. First: render spherical 360 º / 180 º and then convert to cubic with some external programs! Vray camera has some options for spherical rendering ,but I've never tried it! The second technique is: you place a tiny sphere in the center and make it 100% reflective, then bake the texture. Only reflective, and not using the camera. I like to use here the Hexahedron sphere for that, but the standard works as well, with a lot of segments to get a god result.

Thank you! So, there isn't a direct way to do this, instead, I should use these methods. I would like to try them, because in Cubic Panorama it's like Dracula games and I love it. :-)

I'm keeping my opinion that AM is the best tool for first person games right now. We only need more support from the creator to make it more modern and support higher resolutions like HD or Full HD. :)

I'm trying to BAKE the texture out of the sphere object, but I only get black image. I guess there is no hope for cubic render in Cinema 4D.

Vairon told me about 3DS Max and his article in BBB (http://hickchickgames.com/am_magazine/bbb17.pdf) that will render the scene in cubic format, 6 images to combine with the Cubic Panorama Combiner. So, I guess I won't be able to convert my Cinema 4D project to 3DS Max also...

If anybody know how can I achieve cubic rendering with C4D, please inform me, I would be grateful... :-)

On to something different... :(

I'm giving up...

Tried everything to do a cubic panorama, with no luck. Every time I get bad top and bottom and I cannot make it better...

Hope to find anything in future... :)

Here is test scene with spherical projection. A complete set up, just change the size of the texture in the "Bake" tag, and perhaps the bit depth, not to forget the save / name field. To get the pole-caps without big care, the segments need to be set very high in number. I hope that will help

Thank you! You just made my day! I was so sad when I didn't get any working solution, but thanks to you, I'm on my way. I copied your sphere in my project and got a great panorama that is working great and it looks very professional. I thank you! 8)

Now, to try and make it with better quality... if it's possible in AM... :-)

Thanks again!
