Still looking for...

Postby Harvester » Mon Oct 10, 2005 7:42 pm

Hi,

I am still looking for someone who could make the graphic's for my game... as I said before it's the 'Madville' project, a horror-like game (something like Harvester, but as I know not many of you know that game... it is something like Phantasmagoria). I need many pictures of places and quite a few charachters, and some movies too... some bloody movies....
So if someone can do this favor for me, please send me an answer... it is a non-profit project, but if you want we can talk about payment.... I have to tell you that I do not have much money. It is a funproject, but I hope somebody can help me...
thanks in advance,

Harvester

Hi

Postby Harvester » Thu Oct 13, 2005 4:49 pm

Of course I can explain what kind of game I am working on...
It is a horror-like adventure, based mainly on conversation with other charachters. I hope you know Phantasmagorias or Harvester... it will be something like that, but in 1st person perspective. If you are still interested, ask what are you intereted in especially.
The movies.... I dont know if 2 or 3D is better in this case, i suggest 3D, but it depends on who is going to create the graphics... so it doesn't really matter. The only important thing aboput them is that they sholud be nice :) Some of them are qute violent, disgusting, etc, but as I said I want to create something like Harvester, of course in a more modern style and quality.
I dont know if this is a work for one or more people.... I know it is a bit much. So if more people is interested in it, that's ok to.
Thanks in advance to you and to anybody for the help.

OK

Postby Harvester » Wed Oct 19, 2005 12:57 pm

I thought you could find some on gamespot or something, but OK, I will send some as soon as can. But they are quite old games, so I think you -or anybody- can make nicer graphics nowadays... or at least I hope :) e.g. nowadays 256-coloured graphics are a bit... so they are not so modern. :D

I found it.

Postby Harvester » Sat Oct 29, 2005 4:32 pm

I found a great page...
http://www.adventuregamesforever.de/Har ... nshots.htm
Visit it... many-many beautiful Harvester screenshots are there.
I can recommend
http://basti007.free.fr/harvester/
too.... I don't speak German so I can't understand what is written there, but from there you can download soundtrack, which is very nice I think, and there are some more screenshots there, plus some video-downloads which didn't work for me unfortunately...

I dont mean old dos games

Postby Harvester » Tue Nov 01, 2005 12:25 pm

I don't mean old dos games... it is something between dos and windows.... so it is actually written to run on dos or win95, but dosbox says its not a dos game. I need somehow to emulate win95 or something, i don't know.
As i see we are a bit far from the original topic. No problem :) I just want to remind you all that I am waiting for help....
So another question in an absolutely different topic. :) Can i make a win95 theme work on XP? :)

Just a thought, the Just Adventure web site

http://www.justadventure.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi

has a section for people who are having difficulty getting games to run on
different version of Windows. There might be some help there.

Another idea

Postby Harvester » Wed Nov 23, 2005 8:20 pm

As I saw some interactive movies (Phantasmagoria, Harvester, etc) it came to my mind why not to make a game by using real actors. Of course not offical, professional actors (for financial reasons :) ), but some people who has a tend to take part in a game.
I am wondering how could I organise such a thing.... if you've got any ideas or suggestions, feel free to post it!

Ask some friends to help. They just might like to do it.

Yeah

Postby Harvester » Thu Nov 24, 2005 8:43 pm

Yeah, that's a good idea, however I don't have such friends I need as actors.... I mean there are such many roles, and some of them are not very popular.... I mean there are scenes where the actors should do things they might not want.... so there are some violent scenes, you see, and most people do not like to die in such way they need in their role...
And another thing is that my friends are not suitable for many roles... there are quite old charachters in the story, and I don't know how to find an old actor, who would take the role without payment and would die in bit violent ways...
OK, I can leave those charachters out of the game, but still there's a problem that I don't have enough actors and my friends can't fit in every roles.
