I'm not brilliant, but if lack of these is holding you back, I may be able to help. (3DMAX, Bryce, Poser)

Nice of you, but nobody seem to notice. Wrong headline, I guess. Oh well, I'll carry on building my own games.

It's just a matter of time you will be asked I think: as you can see in other topics many people have problems with graphics. Propably if you could put up here some sample pics more attention would be drawn here.

I've been using MAX on/off since 1.2, updated recently from Bryce 2.4 to 5.0, and I began using Poser 2 years ago. However lenght of time never equals proficiency. I'm still reading manuals whenever I get stuck.

And yes, I'm working on two games. At present I'm just making the visuals, the scripts and the sounds, but sooner or later I'll take a deep breath and begin to put it all together. I was so impressed with expert users sharing their "tricks" with everyone, and I know I will get stuck and have to ask them, but in the meantime I thought I'd try to give something back. (No, I'm not really LOOKING for work, but will help if I can.)

Yes, I've visited your website, played your demo and am very much in awe.

Hello Lindacat,

I'm new on this forum and a newbie in 3D graphics. Though I've got the ideas, I can't get good results with a 3D software. In one word, I'm crap** and loosing patience.

I'm looking at the others' works. The forum is full of ressources and I just asked myself if it was not better for me to ask somebody for the graphics.
Could you post some screenshots of your artworks. I'm not very demanding, cause my graphics are pretty lame so no worries, I won't be very critical.

I'm working on a project that is based on "japanese" action games like Onimusha. I need inspired backgrounds like japanese buildings and landscapes.

See you soon.

I am growing increasingly busy, but why dont you send me a picture/pictures (.jpg or .png) of what you need, be it 3D people or buildings or "things", and I'll quickly tell you if I can do it quickly or not. (Sorry, no time to get my own work rendered just now.)

Hello,

sorry for the delay. I don't actually have proper pictures/graphics to show you as examples. I can do some shots of Onimusha, I found some on Internet but they don't show what I'm looking for. It's probably better to work from photos like these...

I am so SORRY

Postby LindaCat » Wed Oct 25, 2006 6:31 pm

- but aside from the two people I have promised to help out, I have no time to take on anything else in 2006.

At the time I posted this I was only building one game, at present there are 3 + my full time job. 2007 may look entirely different, though, for those who care to wait.

Here the map I was talking about. It's just a first sketch, I have to add some details.

The yellow area corresponds to the corridors.
The blue slashes are the windows. As there are paper walls in all the house, it is not useful to put too many windows, the interior should be pretty bright by day time. Anyway, the scene taking place during the night, some lights should be added especially in the separated room (right bottom corner - put a candlelight).

I have to do the second floor map...

See you Linda

Here are some pics I made to get you ideas what to put in each rooms. It's done with Paint so excuse the quality 8).
Some details may not correspond to the map (windows to the wrong place). You don't have to do exactly the same, it's just a sketch to give ideas for the interior (flowers, calligraphy etc...)

Tell me if all of that is possible. If it takes you too much time, we can change.

A trunk is used in this room + a hidden item under the tatami (a scroll should appear under the corner). Well, don't want to reveal all the solution... Anyway, if possible, make a zoom to the trunk so that we can open it and see what is inside.

I don't think I can do it all. In reality you are asking me to model more or less everything for your game. So could you please chose 3 or 4 pieces that are priorities?

Actually it looks quite good done in paint :)

Yes I thought it was a bit too much :)
So let's do the backgrounds, I'll manage all the rest. The four rooms shown here will do for now.

Not much connected to your conversation, but if you really made these in paint, congrats!

The four rooms I was talking about. I think if you can make the backgrounds of these, will be already great.

Harvester, I used some cliparts to make the rooms more realistics.

Hello,

I don't have internet anymore so it can be sometimes difficult to answer. Sorry for the delay. I try to get connected as often as possible.

Do you have any question?

Don't worry. I really haven't had the time to do your rooms yet as I am frantic to get my own beta-demo completed for testing, BUT I will, I will!!! In the meantime, a very merry Christmas to you.
