A little "competition"

I have been thinking about this for a long time, but I didn't know whether I should post it or not.
Well this one could help the community to gain experience and AM to become more popular: We could organize ourselves into one or two big team(s) and create a non-comercial adventure together, combining every possible feature of AM such as plugins, scripting etc...
By splitting into groups (scripting, graphics, soundtrack...) the game could be more "professional looking"...

If anyone is willing to take part in the project, just reply and remember to write about what you want to do during the project (graphics, scenario, scripting, soundtrack, something not mentioned or multiple options)

When lots of people respond, we will be organised, so even after responding keep watching the topic...

Well you know me Lyberodoggy. I'm ready to do scripting, voice acting and soundtrack design.

If this idea takes off, contact me, I'll be ready to help...

You can count on me at music composition and voices. That's what I guess I can do. And maybe menu design, inventory, etc.

I 've not abandoned this, project... Still crewing up.

Since I will not have much time till the start of the new season (September), I suggest closing the party then to start the production... I am going to add a poll about the scenario. What would it be? Your call.

I put Sci-Fi because Adventure is a bit too broad for me.

Okay... so we got a majority in sci-fi this far... Still the vote won't be closed for at least two more weeks. We are open to ideas for possible scenarios too.

By "Adventure" I meant placing the actor in the typical nowadays (no parallel universes, future, past or anything) and just have him endangered or something.

Since I'm the guy with character rendering  character graphics for me! Will it be in the third person?

Nah, it would be better to be in first person.

But you are welcome for character-design

Thanks Lyberdoggy. I actually made Robot characters on Poser 4, I believe before this topic even came up. I'll be happy to lend them! If you need robots in the Sci-Fi :P .

Maybe we can try this again once the am contest is over (i mean offical game contest)

And

... and maybe it would be nice to come up with a more concrete concept I guess. I don't mean to give an exact story, but something that would inspire people to join and contribute.

If that's the case, then as soon as the contest is over, I'll help with graphics design and whatnot.

I think it should be a combination of both first person and 3rd person. We could mainly use first person, and include some 3rd person scenes. This would help keep the main objective in view (showing off AM's capabilities). comments?

You can put me down for coding and/or story line. Hopefully, this concept will get off the ground. I think it's an excellent way to learn from each other.

We kind of abandoned this for the One Game thing... maybe you would help us with that?

I really like that idea. Has anyone here ever played The Neverhood before? It's a great game made by Doug TenNapel, the genius behind Earthworm Jim. It's a point and click adventure game, and it's a combination of 3rd person and first person. Best of all, the whole thing is in claymation. Beat that. :)

Here's the link for the new project. You are welcome to participate and contribute with ideas. I like to use 3d person plugin for alternative things such as a map or something like that (make a 3d person sprite of just a green pointer which pinpoints the player's location on the map, then move him to the next town

Claymation? Really? What kind of tool did he use to do that with? I'll have to look this game up. Sounds really interesting.

Thanks Zenoc2 and Lyberodoggy. I'll look at this other link and see if I might be useful. At the very least, I can help with the storyline.

To my knowledge, he and his team used clay, sculpting tools, a small camera, and computer code.

I did claymation with a 8mm camera back in the day! :)
I wonder how many people are old enough to say that. Sheesh, that was back in the '70s.
