Yes, I suppose this is the best. And with producer having that job, he should be one of the programmers

Yep. Because if you're programming you have to have the frames and stuff in front of you so that you can test the code.

That definatly works with me. Doggy, do you have full commercial or just full?

Please awnser the poll for what genre you want. I think the medival idea would be the best. After we decide on a genre, we need to work out an exact storyline. Then a name for the game and then I can build the website and work can start.

EDIT: Didn't have much to do. This may be our main character.

He looks good, but what the "SI" on his forehead stands for? Is it like a watermark or something? I think it could be removed unless it's a game about past times/neglected castas/occultism/something like these :)

Yea, that's a watermark. I will remove that in Photoshop later, but I just wanted to give you a idea.

Same guy, little different:

He seems like an action flick guy, and SI could be a tattoo.

I think not since we have already rejected that in a previous post, haven't we?

Uh....

I don't think this is a 3-d game, unless people want it to be

All I'm asking is whether or not this 3D head belongs to the person you play as. If so, why would the player be able to see it? Unless you're planning to use it in cutscenes, I don't really see the point of making it.

The person I posted is the main character. And yes, it's not a 3rd person, and it was a waste of time doing it, but it gives you an idea of what the character is going to be as the developer.

OK. It's been a while. I will start updating the original post with info. Once you get a task every week, it's going to be your job to talk stuff over with the other people in your section (like programming, artists, etc.). But first we need a name for a medieval RPG. Any ideas?

I never was good with names. (see SafeSys, Shooting Field, I love Math etc)

But first what should be the name of the game?

I build websites a profession. If you want, I can point you to examples. I built a content-management web tool that allows you to update a website via the web in real time (secure of course). very easy to use. Just let me know if I can help out with this.

As for the project, I can help with the storyline and/or coding. I've been coding since the early 80's, but mostly enterprise stuff. The logic never changes, just the approach and syntax.

I'm quietly working on a storyline for the contest mentioned in a different post. Hopefully, I'll finish it in time since I just saw it and the deadline is the 18th. Like everyone else, I'm busy. I don't go to school anymore...but as a contract programmer, I'm constantly pressured to get certifications....have one coming up at the end of the month. :(

Not sure how this project is being put together, but might I suggest first building the story (rough draft). Then building a story board and rough images to get the programmers started? Then the artists can put their magic on it and replace the rough images. just a thought. Then it probably have to go through several cycles to get it where we want it.

I can do concept art, I have a scanner available...

I can't do any 3D graphic modelling though, I'm just too busy I'm afraid... :(

3D environment modeling is what I do. Someone else will have to do the people though.

I can do some of the people, but I may need help. Any one wants to take this job? It would be great. And I updated the first post. Please refer to that for general info.

@Chromegloss: We may need some concept art in a while for the artists + for the website.

@Renued (sp) Sure, I'll put you down as a misc. job worker. You can code, and I may need some help with a website :)

Well I'll do some medieval concept art when I have time and then post it in a seperate thread titled "Medieval Game [Working Title]" in the Art Forum. I'll post the link here.

I think we should keep specific aspects of the game in specific forums. Like the music should be discussed on the music forum, art on the art forum, story on the story forum. It'll allow us to have in depth discussions without interference from other aspects of the game.

We'll use this thread to post more general updates. Sound good? :P

Yes. But all communication on tasks will be posted on the original thread.

EDIT: have 6 hours today in the car with my laptop- ill finish the storyline.

I just want to ask how far the project is progressed or stucks it?
Do you have another place to discuss?
It would be nice if other forum members like me could see the progress of the game and the planing.Or is this not in your mind? Is this a secret project? :)
I ask because I'm interested in how you handle and coordinate all this.
Also it would be nice to read the story and then see how you put the story into a game.

And if you have still a need of a website: I do programming PHP+SQL for a longer time

I would be a artist. I'm in. I am a experienced 3DS MAX artist with good lighting skills and modeling skills. I am a certified student of Arena Animation. And i had worked for many company and individuals providing services such as 3D artitectural designing, making models for 3d games and more...

I would be happy to be a Artist (no.3 one).

@chickens1127 i sent you PM.. check it out.

I've noticed that there is no story writer in the first post. Could that be the reason, that the game is not continued anymore? I noticed that there are often projects that start with high graphical and technical ambitions and after a while people realise, that they never had a story at all and don't know where this leads now.
