Greetings and thankyou to those who wish to help.
We should use this new topic to express ideas and work together to completing this project.

I wish us all the best of luck in our work, now lets get brains and ideas working.

Cheers.

Would the spotlight plugin be usefull? or it would complicate things... I think the second is the case :(

I haven't used the spotlight plugin, but I think we should consider everything along the way...just as long as it doesn't slow the project down.

having the hud and the interface on the screen would mess with the plugin, so I think we should put it out of the question

Good point lyberodoggy, lets not complicate things too much and keep it simple for now unless some one has an alternative solution.

i just received the rooms' outline and i've already thougth of some artwork. But i'm getting a tablet in the near future (max 3 weeks from today) and then i'll begin working. I have a question thoung, are there any corridors or the player moves directly through the rooms?

by rooms I hope you understand MRM probably means underwater "rooms" not actual ones...

No! I thought we were talking about rooms into catacombs or something!

...There will be glass walls etc...

Here are a couple of sites that well help get your creative side bouncing along:

Great for Facts: http://oceanexplorer.noaa.gov/explorations/04deepscope/background/plan/plan.html

Great for imagery: http://www.exploretheabyss.com/photo/gallery.htm

Aw, here I was looking forward to putting SketchUp to the test. :)

No matter. I'll still work on story, and whatnot. Might I also suggest that we have some rooms where the player explores outside the POD?

Another idea: all stuff that should be kept hush-hush should be sent around through email and PM.

Can't wait to get started! 8)

Apologies saturn, I should have explained it a bit better. My Bad and yes they are corridors.. but very tight ones.

Glass walls? Now you got me thinking of other ideas saturn.
Remeber this is only the first section and we can redo whatever needs to be done and discuss ideas.

Zenoc, Nice idea with the player leaving the POD. Not sure if it viable due to decompression and the fact you are at 30,000 feet below sea level. But I might be able to fit it in somewhere.

Might I suggest having the player go through an airlock to board the... uh...

Then again, this part should probably be kept under lock and key too. I'll keep emailing. Everyone else, feel free to use both PM and email when developing this game.

We could use it when they get down to you know where and discover you know what, who have the tech. for it......we really need to post this stuff somewhere else!

Sounds like a plan, but im not to worried about info leaking out as images of work progression will be placed in the "New Games - Breath" topic.
So eventually some details will become more known that others.
Plus we can always throw a few red herrings around to confuse people :P

Most of the game is underwater including the sections in ~Underwater Pirate Island~ (See that works lol) so travelling outside the POD would have to have its risks, temperature comes into mind. Gets pretty cold down at 30,00 feet (I have no idea actually). There will sections that are untouched and sealed...hmm.. maybe thats where some parts of the game will outside the POD But I would like to minimise them to only once or twice.

Official Members.

MRM2811 (Designer)
Lyberodoggy (Code)
Saturn (Artist)
Zenoc2 (Artist / Editor)
reneuend (Artist / Researcher)

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Possibly another artist, hopefully I will know within 24 Hours.
No descision yet on who lead artist will be.

Also Zenoc2 is designing the POD. I left this in his very capable hands and if he wishes he can use 3D.
If saturn wishes I would like him to design the ~hmm Pirate Thingy~ interior. So all suggestions about the use of colour I believe is more his thing.
Reneuend has shown aptitude (Did I spell that right Zenoc2 lol) in designing caves. So I am thinking of leaving that in his hands for now.
Though everyone feel free to let me and eachother know if you prefer a particular area.

Big question is what type of artwork do we want, photorealism, cartooned, hand drawn. I think its best to let the artist decide amongst themselves but please let me know your overall decision.

I want everyone to realise that they have input and can help reshape this as we go. No need for quietness or being shy in brining ideas up.
:)

Sorry about the forum, it actually is in Greek... :S
Anyways, how can I access the group?

Alternatively, someone set up a forum at www.freeforum101.com and make me an admin to organise it unless you can. I 'd do it myself, but I 've used all my mails for this site

google group

I like the google group idea. It looks like a way to isolate our discussion and a good way to share files. Just my 2 cents. :)
