3th Person Plugin 1.1 - Now with "run" feature

Hi all,

I proudly present 3th Person Plugin 1.1 with "run" capabilities :D

Click the space bar or scoll the mouse wheel to make the sprite run. Of course any KeyGuard command can be used to make the sprite run.

The idea to use the mouse wheel to make the sprite run was taken over from the new adventure game Broken Sword 4: The Angel Of Death which I think works very well.

The demo uses KeyGuard 3.0.5 and 3th Person Plugin 1.1.

Click here to download. (3.14 Mb)

Special thanks to GM to make the 3th person plugin source available and to give permission to redistribute it.

Source and plugin will soon be available

Please let me know what you think.

Kind regards,

ShAdOwHuNtEr

Thanks, ShadowHunter.

One thing that I noticed....
If I exit the game, using right click and then EXIT, but then click Start on the Start-up screen, there's no character visible when the game restarts.

Hi Imari,

Yes... I was able to reproduce the error. Though I think this behaviour was always present. The code for that was not altered.

I will look into it nevertheless

Hi all,

I took my some extra time but I changed a few things so that the third person plugin "run" feature can also be used without the use of KeyGuard and without scripting :D

Of couse by using KeyGuard and scripting you can completely customize you game.

By using the external configuration utility you can now set a "walk" and "run" speed and enable the build in mouse scroll wheel detection.

That is all it takes to make the sprite "walk" or "run", the demo includes also a small scripting example to make life easier should you want to customize your game

There is also a small manual included.

I really hope you will enjoy this new feature.

Kind regards,

ShAdOwHuNtEr

I'm just wondering if you have the 3rd person plugin source, could you do something about changing the charachter at a given frame? So you play the game with a given charachter for a while, then at a frame it is changed to another.

I've thought of a way you could do that. But I have to test it out myself... It involves using the WriteINI command.

All the various parameters that you set are stored in the ThirdPersonConfig file...

If you could change the parameters in the file without needing to use the configuration utility then it would be very possible...

I've got AM's permission to release the Third Person Plugin with this new option so hang in there! :D

Hi all,

Sorry for taking my sweet time before replying

I'm alas too busy to work on AM a lot. However I did made a custom designed plugin for an old member of the forum who already released some commercial games.

The new plugin will be featured in his next release. I'm not telling more :D

Within the next 3 or 4 months I will have more spare time and take a look of what can be done, please remind me of it.

I'll also will take a look on HotSpot Magic as the request keep pouring in since it's no longer compatible with new releases of AM :(

With best regards,

Hi ShAdOwHuNtEr,

Glad to hear from you again.

If the incompatibility is due to a change in AM, and if it is a small change, please feel free to let me know and I will try to fix it for the next release.
