VARIABLES IN FREE EDITION PROGRAM

I'm just starting to learn how to use adventuremaker (free version) and I don't understand how to create variables. I have read everywhere in the Help about this but I still don't understand. Somebody would help me please? (in a very simple way please, I'm neither English nor American).
