Light Bulb mini-game

Postby Tommy Gun » Mon Feb 16, 2009 3:26 pm

Hello again everyone!

Well, I am getting close to wrapping up a rough draft of my first game and it appears as though I favor the idea of having a few different mini-games incorporated into the story line.

For the last mini-game, I was thinking about doing something similar to the always popular light bulb game where you have 8 or 12 light bulbs in a grid and you have to turn them all on...but clicking on one bulb might turn it on and turn all of the surrounding bulbs off...yada, yada, yada.

I'm guessing that this would be possible to do with AM and I had thought I saw a previous discussion about something like this on the forum but if I did, I can't find it so I was wondering if someone might be able to point me in the right direction?

As always, thanks for helping me out once again!

You could check the Othelo sample. It should help understanding how this works.

I 'd suggest you used Hotspot Magic 4.0 to create the grid you need, then calculate the nearby hotspots by calculating their indexes

for example in an 8*8 grid, if your bulb is hotspot(15), then the hotspot upper of it is 15-8, the one in the left 15-1, the one in the right 15+1 and the one lower 15+8

HI there..:D

I think i know which game u speak of...I'm pretty good at solving them..playing them..How they normally work is;

When u click the upper right corner..u light up the one beside it and the one under it..--So it looks like that corner is lit up..

You do this with all corners..then play in the middle of it-Normally about 5 light up....ya those are my favs..Also tha'ts an easier one.

The othello script would be perfect for that actually..But the only difference is for Othello; U are forced to hit the buttons around the first circle..Where as the lights one..U can hit any button to light up certain bulbs..

I think this is the one u are talking about..

Peace
