Have items in inventory as the game start

Postby _LarZen_ » Mon Feb 16, 2009 7:47 pm

Did a search and did not find a answer so here goes.

I want to have some items in the inventory when the game starts, know how to get them in there by picking up items but not how to have them there from the start as default.

Any help on this would be nice, a link to a site with some tutorials would be nice alsow.

Thanks and sorry for this noob question ;)

Welcome to the AM Forums _LarZen_ :)

To have an item in the inventory without picking it up, you need scripting (full version of Adventure Maker, or as evaluation in free version with limitations); add this code to the Frame Properties for example:

Code: Select all
Action.AddItem "Item_name"

(Item_name is the name you have given to the item, not the file name)

Here are the help files with basic and intermediate information and tutorials:
http://www.adventuremaker.com/help/contents.htm
(you can find a similar version if you click on "help" in your Adventure Maker software)

Will probably need alot of thelp but after looking better I see now that there are alot of nice tutorials on this forum :)

You're very welcome :)
Yes, try out AM, have fun with it, and if you like it, I would also recommend you to get the full version to be able to make much more of your games :)
