Un-looping Video

Postby JasonMc » Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:08 pm

This is probably a dumb question, but, as you all know, I'm something of a n00b right now at this (slowly getting better, tho, thanks to you guys!)

I have some longer animation sequence movies that I need to play ONCE through, and then go to the next frame automatically. I want to use either .swf or .mov format (but I can work with .avi if absolutely necessary).

I am using Flash Player 10 (which I also have a distribution license for, btw.) I need to either set .swf to not loop automatically on the longer videos (but automatically loop on some other flash files in the game), or I need to keep .mov or .avi from looping.

Help?

Thanks, but I already searched those. I've already tried creating timed events, but for some reason, they do not work with the .swf video. Is there something specific I am overlooking?

Hi JasonMc,

In what sense doesn't it work?

Have you made sure, that on the frame where the player goes after the timed event, you went to the
Frame Properties -> Plugins Tab
and checked the box for "When the frame is loaded, remove all open Flash Movies"?

OH!!!! Okay, well, that answers that. Thank you. Like I said, I'm a little slow at this...

I think that should solve my problem. Thanks.

No worries, I had the same problem when I used a flash file and timed event for the first time. ;)

You're most welcome, let us know if there are still issues with it :)
