EXE being "iffy"

Postby time-killer-games » Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:53 pm

All my games that were EXE exported do not work on certain computers, and work on others. The usual error is located in the "Gif89.dll" or in one of it's dependencies. I've tried registering that GIF DLL several times but it wether registering it was successful on not it still won't change the fact my game only works on certain computers. The computers I've tested were XP and Vista and it works on both -- it depends on the individul computer itself and not the windows version.

Strange, but is there a way to fix this? Anyone else have this prob?
Thanks!

The only time I had this issue was on my own computer. I wonder if its something you're using in your games that's causing it.

All I use in my games is the typical.

-KeyGuard Plugin
-Images (jpg, bmp, animated gif)
-Videos (avi, wmv, but most of the time avi)
-The AM frame and configuration files
-Ocasionally I use vbscipt for the InputBox
-And of corse the change resolution vbscript, since I like to bypass the initial menu.

Is it possible that any of these files could cause this?
Thanks reneuend

I could be wrong, but I didn't think animated gifs were supported. The rest is fine.

(addendum: you could send me a project folder and I'll build an executable to test.)
