Get ready, Here's where www.yoyogames.com and www.adventuremaker.com collide...
Both GameMaker(GM) and AdventureMaker(AM) are two very great programs that both can read and write INI files. This give them the power to interact with each other. At the same time, they both can run external programs through coding.
For example,
level 1 was made with Adventure Maker, in order to unlock level two write an ini file with the AM exe game, which activates the GM exe game once read and renders it playable. Run it from AM using the syntax:
Action.OpenExeFileAndWait
&Then you are at level 2 which is the GM game.
GameMaker has the power to do things that am can't, such as using DLL's
At the same time AdventureMaker can use ActiveX OCX components to their advantage.
This can give a much more possibilities for both game makers, as well as help both communities instead of competing.
Just a thought,
