Anybody want to do a music maker song competition to see who can up with best music maker-made song? I've heard some good stuff already, so I'd love to see what you guys can come up with!

It's a good idea!
I currently work with MM to compose some music and sound for my new game I working on.

Witch criteria the song should have? The length?

Or should all free?

I haven't really thought about it.

A criteria would definately make it easiar to judge, but it may turn people off the idea. I guess it'd just be to create whatever kind of music you can with MM...

My only criteria would be that it would have to be more than 30 seconds long...

My guess is to differentiate 2 forms of music:

1. Music was made for games

2. Music was made just for fun

Criticals for 1:
Min 30 sec.
Criticals for 2:
Over 2 min.

Because how would you judge these songs one to another?:

Edit:I would say, 30 days the contest runs.Perhaps so long is the trial version of MM. So nobody could say: I don't have the programm, it's to expensive! (AND the download trial of MM2008 gives you everything you need to win the contest!):)

I meant 30 days after the starting day.
30 days is a lot to make some music with MM.
I hope when everybody knows then there would be a MANY people dare to take attend to this.

The essential of the contest is to see what YOU can extract from MM and the other ones.

I think it's a great idea to hold such a contest

I'd say, create a contest thread here in the Music subforum as soon as you're ready, and one of the staff members will make an announcement in the "General Discussions" with a link to the contest thread
