The Traveler (in development)

Postby Josiah1221 » Wed Jan 11, 2012 9:53 am

This is a project I have been working on in my "little and I do mean little" spare time over the past year. I'm hoping to find more time and possibly release it in the near future. It's more of an exploration/inventory based game, not any puzzles... very short... just a little something that's helped me to get a feel for AM. Once this is done, now that I'm familiar with the program, I plan to make a full game. Til then here's a few screenshots.

Thanks for all the positive comments :) I do look forward to getting this finished. As for the programs, I used Bryce 6 and Gimp.

I've used Bryce, but when it comes to rendering, there were only problems...

Bryce is great for these kind of games though...

The images looks fine for your first work.
Can you tell us about the storyline of the game?

Bryce! I started to design with this program, has a great potential.

It's been a few years since I first posted about this game... life tends to keep u busy, but it's always sat in the back of my mind. I'm hoping to continue working on it. For now though I made a short demo that ends in the cavern if anyone is interested in playing it... http://www.4shared.com/file/MdfXVk-Hba/The_Traveler.html

p.s. also if anyone is interested in the original version I made in microsoft paint that actually has an ending let me know and I'll upload it as well!

Hmmm.... I used AM v.4.5.2 on Windows XP 32 bit at the time. Is there any way to make it compatible?

You should be able to load it into the latest version of AM. Any errors will be due to custom scripting. If you had this, then you should first look at Video, and Sound subroutines.

I think that it is video error that is appearing... but, 4.5.2 is not compatible with Win 7, nor Win 8...
