Hi Cede,

Welcome to the forums :D

It just means you can't ask money for projects created with that kind of AdventureMaker license.

Kind regards,

I realize that with the limited version of AM..that you can't make money.....is there anyway to make money off of full verion..like with your games..and your own webite. Could someone describe "HOW"..like what are the your options....just wondering if its possible.:D

...Perhaps these questions might help in answering..

1. What is the difference in posting games online for free on your "own" website and or someone elses.? Is there a way to make money..from both?.

2. How does it work...do u make money each time someone plays it.? like ur website gets hit and someone downloads it and you get paid.
If this is the case..How?

3. Does AM make money as well off of your games..that are played..I read somewhere that you can inadvertantantly..but that was as far as the topic went. It more or less spoke of ads.

4. Is it a one time fee..or on going..? If you make money
in either scenerio..webiste..dvd ..cd..download..-online

5. How would someone estimate money range..like from what to what.
Could a person live off of this..as a job..or is this just ahobby and u make the odd buck.

These are just general questions..was just curious, hopefully somone is still watching this thread..lol..T.I.A. for anyone who answers thisl

There are 3 "versions" of AM:

- free version: You can create .am1 files with it, so that your players have to install the free version of AM in order to be able to play your game. Additionally there are some features that are not included (e.g. using VBScript, plugins etc.), however you have the possibility to evaluate those features with your games up to 20 frames.

- full version non-commercial licence: All features are included. You can use scripting and all plugins, and can create a standalone executable (.exe file), so that your players don't need to install AM on their pc. But you are not allowed to sell your games, just provide them as freeware.

- full version commercial licence: All features are included, and you are allowed to sell your games.

In case you purchase the commercial licence, you need to take care of selling your games yourself. Either you find a publisher, or you sell it from your homepage (in that case you need to add an online purchase option, e.g. Paypal or other).
The creators of AM don't gain any money with your games, you have to pay a one-time fee in form of purchasing the commercial licence for AM.

I don't think it's possible to live from making games, well I would say that 95-99% of the indie game creators can't. Even game creators (or game creator teams) who are able to make professional looking games, have usually a regular job aswell. It depends on many factors, e.g.
- Do you make a game genre that sells good?
- Are you able to create professional looking games?
- Can you find a good publisher?
etc.

He has made money by adding ads to his site, this is something different.

Quoting from their site:

"Also my website has been generating mad earnings because of all the fans that have been clicking ads and checking them out..."

If you read the AM site, it says:
"Make money with the software you create with Adventure Maker (directly or indirectly, by placing advertisements on your website, by selling the software, by using the software as a way to attract more customers to another product, or by any other means)."
-> This is only allowed with the full version with commercial licence.
