A couple of questions...

Postby chickens1127 » Sun May 04, 2008 2:10 pm

1. I know the HTML tool, but how would I go about putting a game on a Freewebs website.

2. I was looking what Adventure Maker was made of, and I saw Adventure Maker Player. So is that the file that plays compiled games?

Thanks,

1. After you have the Freewebs account, log in, and use the "super upload tool" to upload the files that are generated by the Adventure Maker "Export to HTML" feature. Your game will then be playable from:
http://www.freewebs.com/YOURACCOUNTNAME/index.htm

2. That file plays the .AM1 files, which are the files that are generated when you click "Create package for distribution (no VBS/plugins)..." from the Project Menu.

Yes, duh...

I mean, if I wanted to give my friend my game, but not put the big Adventure Maker file on the CD, but just the 580 KB Adventure Maker Player file. Would it still work correctly?

No, that would not work, because the system files and other AM files are required to play the game.

Huh...

That stinks, I thought I could beat the system with having to download AM! :(

Well, if I include AM on a CD, and someone opens the game, will the game automatically run becuase AM is on the CD?

Thanks...

Sorry, unless you create an HTML game or a PSP/iPhone/iPodTouch game, if you don't want the player to install Adventure Maker, the only solution is to create an executable with the "Create executable (.exe)" command from the Project Menu (full edition).
