Problems porting Adventure Maker into PSP

Postby sharon » Wed May 07, 2008 5:20 am

I am year 3 students from Temasek polytechnics Engineering School.

Currenly, i am working on my final year project and i came across Adventure Maker. My group thinks that this software will be a great help to my project. Just when we are trying out, my group are unable to port the games to PSP. Can we know if we have missed any steps in order to port the games over to PSP? Such as installing any specific program to get it done?

Hi sharon, welcome to our Forums

As far as I am concerned, you just need to create a game not using any scripting at all and then compile it for PSP. To do so, you will have to select Create Project For PSP.

Once you compile the game for PSP, you will be asked to connect your device to your computer, then the procedure is automated.

Here is a step-by-step example:

1. Launch Adventure Maker
2. Load a project for PSP. For example, you can try with the built-in project called "Sample Game for PSP"
3. Click "Compile for PSP" from the menu on the left.
4. Choose a location on your hard disk (the desktop is ok)
5. Click "Continue" and then "Open with explorer".
6. You should now see a bunch of files. Double-click the file "Setup" to start the installation process.
7. Connect your PSP to your computer via the USB cable and go to "USB connection" under the Settings menu of the PSP main menu, like you do usually when you want to transfer some files to the PSP.
8. At that moment, the installer should automatically detect that you have connected the PSP and that you have enabled the USB connection, so it should start installing the game
9. At the end of the process, when the game is installed, open your PSP Web Browser, and click "Bookmarks". The game should appear among the bookmarks of the web browser of your PSP.

Please let us know which of those steps doesn't work for you.
