PSP to iPhone Port

Postby cpkspikyhair » Sat May 10, 2008 1:37 pm

Is it possible to directly change my PSP game into an iPhone game, without changing anything at all inside the game? I was just wondering if there were any differences on what you can do with both.

Yes, you can port a PSP game into an iPhone game without changing anything! :)

Just select "iPhone/iPodTouch (landscape)" from the Project Properties.

The only small differences are:
- The resolution is 480 x 268 instead of 480 x 272 (it is just a 4 pixels difference, so the users probably won't notice it - except a slight scroll if they scroll the page)
- You don't have cursors on the iPhone/iPod touch (so it is recommended that you create large hotspots so that people can click them easily with the finger).

Be sure to test your iPhone game on your web browser by clicking "Compile for the iPhone/iPdTouch" -> "Generate HTML".

Please let us know when you have your iPhone game up and running, so that we can play it :)

The only problem is that, for some odd reason, I cannot get GIF animations to work on the iPhone. Any help?

Did you try them on Safari or on another browser?

No, I do not have the resources. But the iPhone uses Safari, that's what I am using to test it with.

EDIT: Just tried it in IE 7, animations work fine. Here is a link to the file if any one has an iPhone / iPodTouch:
