Hotspots on movies

Hi. I was wondering if it's possible (yet if someone doesn't make a plugin for this) to put hotspots on a movie.

For example, this one Adventure game I played. You are in a mine cart and you have to click which way to go at junctions, the movie file is really a continous way to the end but there a several smaller video files that start if you go the wrong way that end the game.

I just thought I'd ask.

You could probably fake this by having a screen grab of the movie on one frame and when you click on it, you load up an identical screen that has the actual movie, which starts playing when it loads. You can choose, "When a frame appears, load a video" to accomplish this.
