Yes, I have run into that problem but it occurred when I copied a backup of my game into the AM folder. Changing the attributes on the folders doesn't make any difference.

What I had to do to correct the problem was create a new project with AM then copy all the files from the 'backup' copy into the new project.

Huge hassle but it did work.

It turned out that the project.dat file went missing under the main dir.

to it and it worked. Left me scratchn my head...

Hi All,

I have run into this problem yet again while restoring some files from a back up disk.

Not wanting to create a whole new project and then having to go through the process of copying all the information into the new project folders I am wondering if there are any other suggestions on how to deal with this READ ONLY error that is generated by Adventure Maker when opening a project

Thanks.

i dont know if this is the same problem i have, but when it happens to me,
i lose all my frame settings and hotspots

my only suggestion is to backup and backup and then backup again

im considering buying the veritas(sp?) backup software and have it backup just the AM folder every hour or so

Hi,

I confirm that the problem is due to the file "Project.dat" missing from the project folder. To prevent this specific problem from causing the loss of the project, just backup the "Config" folder and the "Project.dat" file.
