This is a problem which seems to be caused by the Adventure Maker engine.
So far I have 5 complaints of my game demo not starting. The computer throws up an error screen (see below) before the game has a chance to start.
'AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED. THE PROGRAM MAY NOT WORK PROPERLY. PRESS 'ESC' AND THEN CLICK 'EXIT' TO QUIT.
ERROR DESCRIPTION: ERROR LOADING THE MAIN PROGRAM WINDOW. TRY RESTARTING THE PROGRAM.'
This error is not unique to my game as I have suggested the persons with the problems try another AM designed demo and they have had the same problems (The Arrangement and Hope Springs Eternal were the test cases)
This problem has occurred on the following configurations:
Win 98SE
GeForce4 MX440
--------
Win 98SE
TNT2
---------
WinXP
GeForce 2
---------
Win XP SP2
uncertain of the graphics card
--------
Win98
Riva TNT2 (Second setup of this type)
--------
I personally use a WinXP with GeForce 4 MX440 with no problems as does one of my beta testers.
The problem has me baffled -- any ideas???
