warning concerning save/load game

Postby Rooster » Mon Oct 09, 2006 5:12 pm

Hi.

Just a little warning. Strange things started to happen in our game, when saving and loading at certain points.

In the savegame file, the variable xxx contained the value "0#0612#0811", which is correct, and which we expected when loading the game. However when we loaded the game, the value of xxx was ",". We crashed, of course...

The reason turned out to be the following; The variable TAKEVBscript contained the following value "bort2 ""xxx"", ""#16"",16:add ""yyy"",2,39,0" (which was also correct). But clearly the load function has mixed the variable xxx up with the variable value xxx. (When we cleared TAKEVBscript, after using it, everything worked fine).

Erasing all saved games.

Postby DeFelice-Games » Sun Oct 22, 2006 10:50 am

Is there a way to erase all saved games from the file? Also is there a way to just take out the save/load game function permanatly?
Check out the progress that is being made on the new game in the making process (surreal Revolution) at my website www.freewebs.com/defelice-games

Hi,

With the CommonDialog plug-in you can erease all save-files :D

To disable the Save/Load goto your project properties and check "Hide the load button" and "Hide the save button" you can call a own menu from a hotspot or better yet by using the KeyGuard plugin by pressing "L" and "S" on the keyboard.

Both plugin-in's are free to use and can be found on my website.

Kind regards,
