when using an animated gif, the desktop icons and sometimes the AM gui show through the gif transparecy instead of the bottom picture layer.
please advise. thanks.

Hi yerry,
this is because the animated GIF that you are using contains transparency. Transparent animated GIF's are currently not suppored.
Remove the transparency to solve the problem. You can try to do that with MS GIF Animator (freeware) available from:
http://www.adventuremaker.com/more_downloads.htm
If you really need transparency in animations, you can convert your animation into a sequence of GIF files and then use the "Gif Sequence Player" plugin available from:
http://www.adventuremaker.com/plugins.htm
