problem with Middle Europe fonts...

Postby Bzyk » Sat Feb 17, 2007 10:34 pm

Hello, Friends,

I just bought AM. It is really wonderful engine! But I am fresh and new in it and some questions are a serious problem for me. I will be grateful for help!

I am creating game in Polish languge (fonts in Middle Europe script). When I write questions and answers in Dialogue Wizard, there is no problem with Polish fonts. But the other situation is in case of adding simple text in the frame. I try to configure font, but it cannot help me. Instead Polish letters AM shows me different ones.

I checked it. I don't know why, but AM changes script of adding text from Middle Europe to Western all the time.

Do you know, how can I fix it?

Best reagards,
Bzyk

I'm not sure what to tell you about this.
Guess you will have to wait till GM comes around.
Please don't PM me questions, ask here in the forums!

I've solved this problem. The bug still exists, but now I know, how to dispense with it. If anyone has similar problem with font's scripting, I will help with pleasure.

Nope, I see, you have another problem. I didn't have any errors, only texts in frame didn't display correctly, because in this case, AM don't accept Middle Europe font scripting, and uses Western scripting only.

Anyway, because of this bug, in frame you can't use multilanguage fonts like Arial, Times New Roman, Tahoma or Verdana. You must find font in your language only, where characters typical of your language are under proper numbers, the same as their analogues in Western font. I am not font specialist, so my explanation can be a little... unclear. :) But I will make a couple of screenshots and send it to you via mail.

We had this problem a long time ago, before the boards were hacked, and there was an easy fix, but I just can't recall what it was. It had to do with non-English installations of Windows. I think that ShadowHunter figured it out at the time.... I wish that I could recall it, but I can't. Sorry.
