SOUND SCRIPTING

Postby GORDON » Sun May 20, 2007 3:10 pm

Is there a way to change the sound settings in a previous frame so that when I go back to that frame the sound won't start again?
Example:Frame 1 starts the fan sound & frame 3 stops it. If I go back to frame 1, it starts up again. I know I can make a duplicate frame 1 without the sound but all hotspots previously leading to the original frame 1 would also need to be changed.
Thanks!

I had something like this once without scripting. I think that I layered hotspots on the exit doors to the adjoining rooms. Both hotspots were set to Hide and Disable after a single use and also moved the player to the next frame. (Underlying hotspots just took you to the next frame for repeat visits.) One hotspot activated the sound on channel X and the second disabled it. You might try something like that to see if it works for you.
