Saving and renaming ..??

Postby mercedes » Wed Mar 12, 2008 10:11 am

Ive looked in the help files for this and all it says is that you can safely rename your project and it will save all work done in it...

Well i have had to creat 4 projects of the same..because when i "Run it"..it ran the first time only the one two frames iw as testing..and when i went back I noticed that one frame wasnt named properly so I Renamed it, when i went to run it again after all fixes...run time error said..could not find frame.."untitled" which is the name it was before..I renamed it after that..

Anyhow would really like to know how to renamed the projects..cause in the projects properties...there are no options...do i have to do it in my C; directory..then adventure maker...like every time..? I do something different...cause i rename frames and stuff to suit where i want them..

Anyhow any imput would be appreciated..:D

If you rename frames, you need of course re-do the connections within your project. Maybe you have missed to do that.

For example, if you have
Frame_A and set a hotspot to go to frame Frame_B if it is clicked. Then you rename Frame_B to Frame_X. You then need to fix the connection from the hotspot, too, and set it to go to frame Frame_X.

In the Project Properties you can rename the software title. If you would like to rename the project title, close Adventure Maker, look up the projects folder of Adventure Maker in the Programs folder on your pc, and change it there.
Then you should be able to open Adventure Maker, and open the project with the new name.

Ahhh..i no doubt did miss to do that in the hotspot of frame..of course....oh ok..so of course it would go there..i did it other times..but i think it was after ...noticed that it was wrong..in other frames..but that would make sense...

thank you...i have a question with regards to frams now...merging ..does that apply to when u use arrows..to go to next frame..or can u just use frame merge as opposed to hotspots..basically just to go from one room to the next...say living room to dining room..

if this is the wrong place..to ask this..please provide link to where post is..thanks ..manythanks..:D

No, to go from a frame to the next frame, just do the settings on the General Tab.

If you mean the Runtime Frames Merging feature, this is something else.
Basically you can use it if you wish to display the same hotspot or text on many or even all screens throughout the game, for example if you would like to
- show the score of a player in a scored game
- display the amount of money that a player has
- have an icon (for example of a map) in the corner of each screen, so that the player can click it any time to go to a frame with the full image of the map.

Hope that clears your question :)
