Problem creating executable.

Postby Glottis91 » Wed Oct 29, 2008 8:59 pm

Hey,

I have the PRO-Version, and when I want to create an executable, it says there are some files missing and i cannot proceed. The error messages are:

"Error. A file was not found. The setup will probably not work properly." and
"Error. Some files are missing. Please contact the authors if the error persists." It does not create any setup executable.

Another problem I have is using the Third Person Plugin. All the hotspots which use pictures are in front of my character, even if I send them to the bottom... how can I change that...?

Thanks

Hmm...
For the first problem, try re-installing the application

For the second one, please download the third person plugin update from the plugin section of this forum

First thanks for your answer. Do you mean this:

http://www.adventuremaker.com/phpBB2/vi ... php?t=4352

And where can I then configure wether the person is in front or behind a hotspot?

I tried reinstalling, but it did not help..

Hi there..

Actually to make it look like something is behind the character..it has to be part of the background...as well as a GIF..that's what i did..

Check out this thread to see if it helps a bit..It works for other hotspots as well..

http://www.adventuremaker.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3247&highlight=person

Also yes the thread you mention.. is the thread of the updated version..it will show u how to make it so the character walks within a certain area, as well as how to do hotspots...:)

For the other problem..usually it says which files are missing..Does it give any indication as to which files are missing..:?

Thanks for your answer, but I think that doesn't help me much..

What I would like to do is have animated persons in my game, to talk with etc. Since animated gifs cannot be transparent and also cannot be part of the background, i have to make a gif where the part of the background is included. Look t the picture ive put here to see what I mean.
And look what happens if I walk to talk to him as well. That is what I would like to change..

And there is sadly no information about which files are missing.

Oh ok...yes...i see now what you mean..I'ts an animated GIF..Have you tried to move the character so he's not directly in front of him..maybe off to the side a bit..He can't..be within the same hotspot as the animation..And..to be honest..I'm amazed you see him at all in that picture..3rd person cannot be viewed with animated gif's..mine flew off of the page..when i tried to put an animation within the same frame even..

I'll tell u what i did...I used the "Actual" picture..not the character..I imported the picture of the guy into the hotspot..as opposed to using the character..do u k now what i mean..? You can find all those picture of him in your external folder...or you can import like a regular gif..H'ell only be a picture mind u..You won't be able to move him..H'ell appear the exact same way.

P.S

Did you go to the Plugin tab in the Project Properties to initiate the 3rd person plug in..?

And when u look in your External folder within your project. How many pics of the guy do u see?

Peace

What a pitty that it doesn't work.. That would be a good idea to work at for the 3rd peron plugin developers...

I'll try that importing the guy, but i think it is easier to place him beside, than he can move at least.. i'll have to redraw the picture but that doesn't matter

Ok. Thanks a lot. I hope anyone else kwons sth about the missing files..

Yes that is what I mean...was making sure it wasn't any character images you we're missing..:)

THis might seem a bit tedious..but here's what you can do..Double click all of your frames..as though you we're going to edited them...At tht point if there are any files missing..It will tell you then..and which frame they are missing from..

Post back if that works for ya..:)

These error messages appear when the program was not registered properly. For example, it appears when you use an illegal version of Adventure Maker. If you have legally purchased Adventure Maker from KAGI, please try to re-apply the unlock instructions that you received from KAGI. If that still doesn't work, please send me a PM or an email and I will look into it.
