No game.EXE file created by the setup.EXE file. [solved]

While trying to create a compiled EXE file for my demo, I am getting the following message.

Error. A file was not found. The setup file will probably not work properly.

I've "played" my game using RUN PROJECT and have tried to do everything possible back and forth.... I can find any missing files. I have the full version for non-commercial use and it seems to be registered properly. (I redid that just to be sure.)

After going through the Create Executable routine, an installation EXE file is created. The installation EXE files seems to work fine.... except that it does NOT create an EXE file to start the game... ??

Any suggestions? I'm beating my head on the keyboard and am about to give up.

Do I understand it correctly, that your game is compiled into an .exe file, but you have then problems to install the game to your computer?

Did you close AM after creating the .exe?

I did close AM, Mystery.

When creating the exe file, I get the error message (though I don't know what file could be missing). In spite of the error message, I continue to create the exe file. The setup exe file is created, and seems to install properly.... but after installation, there is no Game.exe file in the \ProgramFiles\Game\ folder to initiate the game.

Do you have made a search of the game.exe? Perhaps its on another place?

I'm not sure if it helps.

EDIT
And someone using a cracked version of AM had the same problem.

So maybe the full version of AM has not been unlocked properly.

Thanks for the answers, guys. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling AM and then try to redo the registration again. Worth a try... I'm all out of other ideas.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled AM and then redid the registration info and am happy to report that this worked. I should add that I had already done the same without success, but this time it worked.... go figure.

If the exe was your problem and from what Shadow said the other day, you could take the exe from another compiled game and rename it and it should work...
