How to avoid cheating in a game?

Postby Rihemo » Sat Oct 29, 2011 1:35 pm

Hello.

I'm new here and have just created my first game. I have made an exe-file to distribute the game.
But I have a problem:
When I distribute my game, Adventure Maker change the image-files from ".jpg" to something like this ".889".
But if anyone playing my game wants to cheat he can just change the file back to a jpg-file and he can see all the images without solving the puzzles.

Is there a way to avoid this?

There is no way to avoid this.

But if someone wants to cheat he does it anyways.

Thank you for your answer. My game should be part of a competition. Therefore I was interested in creating a game where it is not possible to cheat.

You could break up your images and build the full image at runtime. This would be tedious and would only make it harder to cheat.
