ImageList Error?

Postby MichaelMcKitt » Sat Feb 04, 2012 5:11 pm

Any idea why I keep getting this error whenever I load Adventure Maker? An error also mentioning the ImageList prevents me from importing frames too.

Hi there... Welcome to the forums..:D

A few questions..;

Which version of AM are you using..?
Also, is it the Full version or Free..
XP or windows7...

Have you tried un-installing...then re-installing..

A bit more details would be great..Thanks..:)

It is the Free Version
I am using Windows 7
I just tried re-installing and the error persists :/

Did you install by right-clicking and clicking on "run as administrator"?
I've not seen this error before, but it sounds like possibly a permissions issue.

I just have and it still occurs. Here is an image of the error which appears when I try and import a frame.

Import a frame? Please give a step-by-step of what you are doing or trying to do. I thought you were having issues just running AM.

Just a few things..

When you click AM to open it...
I assume you do so by clicking the quick-launch button for AM-- on the taskbar... or...from your start menu button>>>program files?

When you import a frame, you do so...while in thumbnail view..
Basically the default page that comes up...once you open up AM-

To import a frame..it's a picture you have in your picture folder..or..you can use the tutorial graphics that come with AM..

Are you attempting to import a frame..from the project you are working on..or one you did before..?..

Is it possible you have your folder settings..set differently..Unhide or Hide extensions..
Not sure if that has anything to do with it..

Button_Activate.fme...
Is that the name of the actual picture you are importing..with extension...?

I've never had an error importing a frame..not sure if that's part of the error only.

Basically the default page that comes up...once you open up AM- Yes, I am in Thumbnail View

To import a frame..it's a picture you have in your picture folder..or..you can use the tutorial graphics that come with AM.. I have tried importing a .jpg, .bmp and .gif from my picture folder AND tried importing the graphics that come with AM, both bring up this error.

Are you attempting to import a frame..from the project you are working on..or one you did before..?.. I am importing a picture for a new project...

Is it possible you have your folder settings..set differently..Unhide or Hide extensions..
Not sure if that has anything to do with it.. I have 'Display Extensions' checked so I can see the extensions of all files

Button_Activate.fme...

No, the extension is a .jpg, but it appears as .fme in the error :/

Responses in bold ^

I open AM, create a project, select which system I want (I have tried Windows AND iPhone/iPod Touch) and I get the first error. Whenever I try and import a picture, I get the second error. Thanks for the help guys.

ok...I don't particularly like telling ppl to download anything...without knowing more..

However, it might be possible that its a Microsoft issue...It sounds like it...

For instance you may need an ocx..Mscomctl.ocx..similar to that..
Visual Studio..netframework..3.5 or 4..

Did you have AM in a different location at some point..?

I forgot to ask...; Do u do regular updates..?

It sounds like a permission issue with the AM folders. Can you try it by running AM as administrator and see if that helps? You might want to check the folder permissions from Windows explorer too.
