gifplayer problem!

anyone can tell me how it works. gif player plugin? would be eternally grateful

I've used it in past projects, but when I upgraded to AM version 4.6.1, it no longer works.

What version of AM are you using? I will show you how if it is an earlier version of AM. If you are using 4.6.1, then I'll look for an alternative.

[UPDATE] I found a tool that works with AM 4.6.1!!!!

Use gif sequence player v1.1 instead
Filename: GIF_Sequence_Player_v1_1.pl1

Steps (with example):
files to animate: gears1.gif, gears2.gif (note how they are numbered in sequence)
1. Place the files in the Areas folder
Note: its assumed you have the plugin installed and checked for use in the project properties.
2. Create a transparent hotspot (remember the index)
3. Go to Frame Properties and open the plugins tab
4. check the box for "animate a hotspot by playing a sequence of GIF files.
5. Enter Prefix: Gears
6. Enter total number of files: 2
7. Enter interval between each file (milliseconds): 100
8. Enter index of hotspot where to play the animation: 1
9. checkbox for "no loop" if you only want it to run once.

I just modified it so it can use any supported image file type. I've added the updated plugin to the plugins area: http://www.adventuremaker.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=34893#34893

the gif SEQUENCE player plugin how it works and I will but I wanted to add more of a gif in a frame then had enabled the two plugins and wanted to know how the plugin gifplayer to add a new gif without having to make a video. I have the AM version 4.5.2

another question: you can recommend me some pictures recording program to record videos? I use the screen to video free one is better? because it sometimes gives me errors

Since you are using 4.5.2, you can use the regular gifplayer tool.

Name: the first part of the filename. In the list of filenames below, the name would be ?gears?
gears1.gif, gears2.gif, gears3.gif

Ending: The filename postfix after the period (the filetype). In my example files, it would be ?gif?
Time: How long in seconds do you want the interval to be between images
Number of Pics: The number of pics that make up the animation. In my example, it would be 3
Repeat: 0=infinity 1= one time only


I'm not sure what you are asking in the second part of your post. Are you looking for an animation tool? I would recommend Anime Studio Pro, but that's because it is what I use to do my animations with. It's not video software, it is an amination tool for 2.5D art. You can put real images it, and even 3d models, but it animates in 2D. With tricks you can make it appear something like 3D movement, but its not 3D.

thanks Reneuend for the explanation is much appreciated really, but still gives me an error that I can not understand:

I did everything like you said even more renowned than 20 times all. gif if I was wrong in his name or something and ignored me .... does not work I get always the same error ....

sorry and found the problem in "ending" did not remove the item that comes in the original is that I wondered where was the IMG file .. gif
when in fact it was only IMG.gif thank you very much for your help without it there would have been!

I have a question for some more ....

when I compile the project the sequence gifplayer gif player and I can not include them in the controls. ocx then where should I place these two plugins? in that folder?

When you compile, you don't have to do anything with the plugins. Adventure Maker takes care of including them.

So, as long as it is working for you when you are testing during development, it will work when you compile without any intervention.

You don't include the ocx. Adventure Maker knows to look in the plugins folder for what it needs.

Its very simple. Just create the exe without touching anything and it will work.

It looks like you are putting a period in the filetype field because the error message shows 2 periods after img1
