third person plug-in question

Postby indy2 » Thu Nov 15, 2012 7:00 pm

hello from italy ( excuse me for bad bad english) . :D

I want to create an little adventure in third person ( with 3rd person AM plug-in ).

I try the "third person example" in AM package , ok ok is all ok.

BUT ....

I have noticed that when the actor walks, he passes behind the hotspots.

how can I get the actor walking in front of some hot spots?
( example : he walk OVER an cover or key or other object that could take ...)
---------------
versione italiana :

grazie/thanks

Hi Indy2,

I'd like to give you a clear answer, but I've never personally used the 3rd person plugin. I'm not sure how the sprite was built? If it is simple a Hotspot that is being moved around then yes, you can move it in front of the other hotspots. But if its clipping from the background image, then its not possible and you would have to work around the issue.

Here is what I would try though. I wouldn't use images in hotspots. but would use transparent hotspots. This way the character would move over them. if they have to "pick something up", then when the user clicks on the object on the ground, change the background image with the object missing. There might even be an easier way to do this with KeyGuard Studio, but I'm not sure.

Keep us posted on your progress.

mmmhhh ... re-thinking on you suggestion, it's possibile that when the player pick object , my game software put image in trasparent hot spot ( within the missing object) BUT now if the player walk on the empty hotspot , what is happened ? the player walk behind the little rectangle of background ...

I suppose....

the problem remains , because if an image is in a hotspot, the player walk behind.

i think that this is an not resolved issue of adventure maker. ..
