in-game movies too bright ? Solution here

Postby Simon » Sun Dec 02, 2012 6:13 pm

Hi ! Maybe you're using videos (avi, mpeg, mp4...) in your AM project ?

Then maybe they appear too bright ? It happens all the time to me : the black is dark grey and the white is light grey ! As a result, the videos seem to miss of contrast compared to the static pictures !

You know what I mean ?
Then you probably have the same problem than I do : you run the game on a PC equiped with an Nvidia graphic card !

But don't worry, it's not totally due to the graphic card itself, but to a setting in the drivers, and by chance you can fix this easily !
(The following only works for people with a Nvidia graphic card !)

To do so :

- Go to the Nvidia configuration panel
- Look for the video colors parameter
- In the "2. how to set the colors ?" (don't know the real english texts), choose "with the Nvidia parameters"
- Open the advanced tab
- Change the dynamic range from 16-239 to 0-255 !
- Done !

By default, the system was using whites with a RGB value of 16 (instead of 0 = pure white) and blacks with a RGB value of 239 (instead of 255 = pure black)

Now, you should have great colors in your AM game, even when playing videos !
Hope this helps :)
