Mystery House

Postby Azodrak » Wed Dec 21, 2011 2:51 am

Hello!

I've been testing the Sweet Home 3D, playing around with the lights to create an atmosphere of mystery and antiquity.

I hope you like it!

Nice. Is this just testing the tool or do you have plans for these in a game?

It looks very good! I think you created the intended atmosphere very well :)
Looking forward to see them in a game

Fairly impressive. How long does it take to render the final image of a scene?

^ I've used it as well. It takes a range from minutes to literally hours depending one your OS and amount of running processes. Like on my dad's vista laptop (which has a newer processor) took minutes, it took over more than just hours but all last night aparently wasn't enough to render the exact same image on my older processor which is Win7 with a lot of processes running. So depending on how new your processor is, will make all the difference.

The number of lights in the scene strongly influences the time, so just try putting a light source in each stage (except in the bedroom where I put 3, and was slower).

My idea is to use these images (and more of the same house as I have) in a game, but I'm lacking, more importantly, an interesting argument, so I'm seeing if I can think of something. But I'm working on an idea.

here a video of how it would be more or less the gameplay of the game. The idea is that the scenarios are explored in 360 ?, but frame by frame. And the development of non-linear adventure, but you can freely explore the house for clues and puzzles.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbNWQOYfs3I

in the video images are not as good quality for the program I used for recording, but the quality is the same as the pictures in this post.

Thanks for the feedback.

Move

Movement seems really smooth in the video, it's awesome! Well done!
Invent a good story and this can definitely be a game of interest :)

Nice start. As far as I'm concerned, you have managed the most difficult part in building a game...it wouldn't take a lot more to actually build one now!

I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future!

Nevermind

At least mods have something to do, don't you think?
Well, it gets boring after a while. But he is a talented guy indeed, reaching 'Member' status in a day is nice progress :D I only wish he had a more varied range of interests. In a few days if he goes on like this, he will have to be awarded moderator status :)

I gather this must look a bit odd to some..I'll clear the air.

There have been spam issues lately..The name we speak of..is a spambot..and he had highjacked many threads..Including this one..
