New game for windows- Lazy Louis

Postby bearshouse » Wed Mar 05, 2008 11:47 pm

I have completed my first (very amateurish) game. It is about a lazy carpenter whoses friends get fed up with him sleeping on the job, so decide that he will have to finish some projects before he can go home. Sort of an escape the room with a theme. I would appreciate any feedback. I find it is very difficult to find people that actually will help you test a game, so I may still have some bugs. I have purposely set the file in frame because I had 2 vista users that complained that the full screen view moved to the left on them so that they could not access certain parts of the game. My game link is here

Yes, looks great :D

I have downloaded it, and currently playing it
Let's see if I can get out without the walktrough ;)

EDIT

Hmmm.... I'm at the very end, but can't open the door although I think I've used the key (it gave me also sound) :?
Tried a lot of times.

Btw, if I turn around now, the trim isn't up, although I did that before :?
I think you need to fix that :)

EDIT2:
I have done the "color" game again, and now I could open the door.
Did I do it the wrong way around, and therefore the door didn't open? No, I've just checked your walkthrough, and I have done it right. But I had to re-do the color puzzle again in order to be able to open the door...
Maybe you should check the end part of the game :) Although it could be that this happened only to me for some reason.

Otherwise I haven't found any bugs, what could be checked is: to change the cursor on all clickable hotspots - there are 2-3 that don't show a cursor change. Btw, I forget some often, too

I've really enjoyed the game, very nice graphics, good puzzles (and not too easy ones) :D

Just finished it. Really nice, but some hotspots were too hidden to find and I 'd rather have the game run in full-screen mode.

Nice job.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I will go back through the game with an eagle eye for the cursor changes and see if I can recreate the bugs you mentioned and get these fixed. And - full screen mode it is.

It didn't run in full-screen mode in my pc :(

Maybe you turned it off by mistake?
Check it please.

As for the hotspots that where difficult to find, three of them are: under the couch, behind the lamp (broken plug) and when the door is open, the hotspot that goes to unfinished room.

Corrections

I finally got a chance to go back through the game. I reset it to full screen, checked all the icon changes, resized some hotspots and tested the ending. I could not make it duplcate the problem you had. Thank you all for your time and comments.
