Valentine's Day Love Meter - Windows

LOVE METER
ImageWindows 7 compatible

Prove your love to your mate by putting yourself in chains and get in the electric shock machine. If your mate can answer your questions about yourself, no problem. If not, then your in for a shock!

Download it. Set up the questions and answers. Then see if your loved one can answer them!

Here's how it works:
You trust your girl so much that you are willing to take an electrical shock should she miss any questions that you ask her. You are chained to a wall with a electrical helmet on, which is tied to a battery and is charged when someone answers a question and gets it wrong.

1. Load the "lovemeter.ini" file with questions and answers and place it in your external folder for the project.

A line from the file is laid out like this:
What color are my eyes;Blue;Brown;Green;2
The first element is the question
The second element is answer #1
The 3rd element is answer #2
The 4th element is answer #3
The 5th element is the correct answer (either 1,2,or 3)

You can enter as many lines of questions as you like.

NOTE: Future update will allow you to build the questions and answers from the game interface.

Will you hook yourself up to the electrical gizmo for your girlfriend?

Great idea... A good way to improve the ini system would be to add each series of Q&A into a different index... example of ini file:

Code: Select all
[1]
1=question one
2=answer 1 to q1
3=answer 2 to q1
4=answer 3 to q1
5=right answer
[2]
1=question two
2=answer 1 to q2
3=answer 2 to q2
4=answer 3 to q2
5=right answer
etc

Thanks Lyberodoggy. One of the reasons I did this project was too see how to work with external files with AM.

An issue I came across in the game was with checkboxes. How do I make it so they are mutually exclusive? So only one can be checked at a time (like a radio button)?

About the only way I can think of, is putting a hotspot over the checkbox itself.

Yes I thought about telling you that, then I forgot...
Nice concept with the hotspots... No, the one I use is
when the checkbox is clicked, Checkboxobject(otherindex).Checked=False

Not sure how that works...I present this question in the correct thread! Maybe you could give me an example? :wink:

Updated!!!!

I fixed the checkbox problem in a different way. Actually, I like the way I did it for this game...it fits.

I also fixed access to the readme.txt file.

Looks kind of fun. I'm sure it would look more fun to someone who isn't dateless. :oops: Ah, no matter. I'll keep this in mind for next year. :wink:

Computers: They don't whine, wonder why you don't spend enough time with them, don't beg you to hold a purse, don't walk you through clothing stores, and don't nag! :)

What to expect from the next version of this wonderful game.

- A female character, so men can be tested for their devotion.
- Ability to have true/false questions
- Ability to have more than 3 multiple choice answers (dynamic)
- More character insults
- Animation (sorry, you'll just have to wait to find out what it is)
