After a long developing time, the adventure game "The Black Wish Cemetery" is finished and ready to play!
Reneuend helped me a lot with the programing part and the "exe" convertion, and now the game is ready!
Here?s the link to the homepage:

Great game!

But I`m stuck at the ending... I have to put the photographs on the tombstones. I have used the paper containing the meanings of the flowers but something is still wrong. And I can`t find a tombstone which contains generosity...

The personalities on the tombstones are not an exact match with the flower meanings. They're synonyms. You should be able to get all but 2 or 3, then its just a matter of retrying with a few different combinations.

I'm impressed you got this far already...did you use the walkthrough? :)

by the way, if you PM Dalton or myself with the card placement you used, we'll tell you where its not quite right.

Thanks @reneuend. I solved it now. :)

Very nice ending. I`m looking forward to the next part.

By the way I wrote a little review for my 1st person-Adventure-Blog (in german language): http://1stpersonblog.blogspot.com/2010/ ... etery.html

Hi FireOrange. :D

So, tell me if you enjoyed the game. I don?t read german (i?ve studyed a little, but it was a long time ago...). Did you have any problems with bugs or something?

On your blod you wrote you have error messages sometimes during playing the game.
It would be helpful for Dalton if you post this errors here or send it per PM.

Yes, sorry... but there were similar bugs as in "Space Cadet". Some errors before the filmsequences (and I`ve installed the K-Light-Software!).

And yes, I absolutely enjoyed the game. :)

Is the issue with the video not being visible? I personally didn't have this issue, but others did. The k-lite took care of it for them in an earlier version of the game but not the second. I think I have the answer for this and it was mentioned by someone in the forum several months ago....basically, its to follow this rule: Use only 1 video filetype. Don't mix. It seems to work, but maybe others can confirm this?

My video sequences should work well if you install the XVid codec from here:
http://www.koepi.info/

I don't know what codec(s) Dalton used.

Great! We'll test it...Dalton used K-Lite.

Thanks Mystery!

Your videosequences are working using Xvid but also with the K-light-Codec from Dalton. Daltons setup has deleted the Xvid und installed the K-light. After that I checked Space Cadet (which I still haven`t solved yet) and I saw that the filmsequences also work with K-light.

@reneuend: I think I saw all videosequences. But the errors did although appear.

Hi. This part of codec i didn?t tested because my windows is Seven and in the end of production of the The black Wish Cemetery i was just doing the changes without testing the game and then i sent the files and infos to reneuend. So i dont?t know how this codec is working in the game.

FireOrange, just a question: what OS are you using?

Okay :)
Any chance to give a bit info about the error message(s)?

During testing, I never had an issue on my OLD PC, but the other testers had to load K-Lite before it would work. But, on the last update to the game (new videos loaded), one of the testers had an issue where the video did not display (black screen), but you could hear it. He tried reloading K-Lite and changing some configs, but no luck. I'm going to ask him to load this xvid from Mystery and see what happens. If it works, then I'll load it into the executable and upload the game on the server. I'll keep you posted.

Was the new video also using XVid?

The format is WMV, but I don't know what settings were used. Dalton? Can you answer that?

WMV files are often problematic in AM:

In the Iclone, i used the 800x600 Hightest quality, and then i edited the videos in the windows live movie maker unsing the 640x480

In my personal opinion .avi is the best.
Since the uncompressed .avi files are very big, I usually use the XVid codec to compress them.

Do i have to convert all the movies or just the starting and the final?

Try just doing the latest ones. The beta testers can check it out!

From what reneuend said, probably the new loaded videos since the beta testing.
However, without testing your game myself, I can't tell for sure.

Avi is too havy, the game will be more than 200 mb... Mpeg4 is a good format? I just can?t believe wmv is not 100% compatible with AM... :x

Uncompressed .avi is indeed heavy, but using the XVid codec, the video file size can be reduced a lot. (In some of my tests it was around 65 MB uncompressed versus 0.6 MB with XVid, which makes a huge difference).

Just a question:
Are all your videos WMV files? If so, couldn't you do the same with the new videos as with the old ones?
Why are the old ones working and not the new ones - what did you do differently?
