I was wondering why people release their games for free. They have worked countless hours with special skills. Will people donate money? Why not sell it for at least a few dollars? Is there an upside to giving away such a promising game like "Vasilis" has created?

Donations are very very rare.
I think it's not easy to sell games, but those who have done it, might tell about their experiences.
Also, you have to purchase the commercial license of Adventure Maker to be allowed to sell your games; and are not allowed to use any artwork, models, music, sounds, textures etc. made by others that are not free for commercial projects.

I'd suggest that you create a separate topic for this discussion, since this topic is about the game Missing

What program did you use for your graphics? Was it free? Probably not, but it's worth asking, right?
