Thanks !
I'm gonna try it on a P4 2 Ghz with win98 soon.

Edit :
Doesn't work on win98 :( Because of the xvid codecs which need a newer version to install !

I don't know anyone using windows98 anymore. I really don't think that's an issue!

Hey reneuend ! Did you have a chance to try the ASA demo on an "old" XP computer ? Which system requirement would you suggest ? And for a usual AM game ? Thx :)

And now, the pics of the week !

Not yet. I've been busy proof reading the scripts. I should have the scripts done by Friday which will free me up to try out the demo on a very old XP machine. If it works, I'll send you the machine stats. The computer is around 10 or 12 years old. It should be interesting!

Huh ?
First time someone gets an error here !
Could you give me more informations on what you did ?

What's your pc configuration ? Maybe the graphic card is a bit old and doesn't support the panoramic in 4096 px ???... This is why I'm trying to define the system requirement for my game.

I've seen this error before when the player moves too quickly and the game attempts to do simultaneous actions. I'm not sure if this is the case here, but it looks familiar.

I think

Postby Harvester » Tue Sep 04, 2012 10:19 pm

I think the music fits the trailer perfectly well. Making amazing trailers out of a point-and-click adventure seems to be a difficult task for most independent developers; that is often accompanied with dull music. This is definitely not the case here: the artwork looks professional, and the music only adds to it.
Great job!

The first magazine to speak of 2011ASA is...
IGM ! The indie game mag !
http://www.indiegamemag.com/2011-a-spac ... EkOS7RYWSq

And it seems they liked the trailer :)

Done, I registered the game on Steam Greenlight :

All of you, Adventure Games lovers, if you think 2011ASA is worth it and you want to support it, then the best way is to vote for it. It requires an active Steam account, that is to say an account with which you already bought at least one game on Steam.

I am very happy to see a game made with AM on a platform like Greenlight!:D

You are doing a great job.

Best regards, Vairon.

Yeah thanks reneuend ! I knew I could count on you ;)

From what I read in the comments on Steam, most people are "formated" (without intention of being rude, I just don't know how to say that in english) by the game industry : HD, realtime 3D and absolutely great graphisms are a must-have to stay in the course, even speaking of indie games. That's a bit frightening...

Thanks Gordon !

Note that the game is not to be called "2011: A Space Adventure" anymore because it reminded too much of Kubrick's movie. It is now "ASA" and that's all, which means "A Space Adventure".

For those interested in following the game, I try to give regularly some news on the blog :
http://2011asa.blogspot.fr/
It is possible that I don't add anything for a long period, but I'll try to keep it up to date.

For example, I added today some info on the game mechanics.
Well, you here on the AM forums deserve that I add the info here too, so you won't even have to click on the link above :)

? Game mechanics
So you wonder how it works in ASA ? Then imagine you're lost all alone aboard an unknown spaceship. You need to explore it and find how to progress all by yourself. Maybe you want to know the reasons of your presence here, or maybe you just want to go back home ? Then you'll have to find the secret behind the Cube, and there's only one way to do so : go forward again and again...

The pictures below show how you must think if you want to go through the game :

Everyone, help me to make the game more known if you like it, please ! I'm not gonna make it on Steam if we don't gather all fans of adventure games !
ASA is ranked 383 (on 811 greenlight games) and is stuck at 1% of votes... :( I need much much much more people to vote for it...
Speak of the game on facebook, twitter, video games forums, or any place where you can find fans of adventure games !

Hi, let's go with some ASA news :

1/ you can get some HD wallpapers of the game on the official blog if you want ! Don't hesitate to share them all over the web :p

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hHb1tUiwUz0/UFhHDmhYUPI/AAAAAAAAAM4/4yyHMpymyzg/s1600/ASAmozaicHD.jpg

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1AwApjMl9TA/UFrWdfcXvoI/AAAAAAAAAN0/b_OChN_xwYg/s1600/ASAheroHD.jpg

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-soLRQN3WreU/UFmVtDCgRtI/AAAAAAAAANg/L6yyCmHsb9U/s1600/ASAgreenhouseHD.jpg

2/ ASA is now 50% of the required votes to be in the top 100 games on steam greenlight. Being in the top 100 means more chance to be selected and sold on the Steam platform. That would be awesome, because a game sold on Steam has much more luck to be seen by people.
And that would not only be good for me and my game, that would also be good for all of you AM users !

I'll come back with some news soon ! And I want to thank already all the people from the forums who worked by my side, and all of you AM members who share your knowledge and help new AM users !

Thanks, it's very nice of you.
Right now, I'm starting to be exhausted from making such a game alone. And there is still a lot of work :? I'd like to make a break, but I won't make it for november if I do.

Wallpapers....good idea!
I hope you don't get burned out...its very hard to get back into building the same game once you leave it sit for awhile.

Maybe you could set small goals for each month that way you can pace yourself.
