Survivalists.

Hi there guys! Just announcing a new fan game I started work on over new year. It's simply a test of scripting and methods I've been teaching myself and since still on non commercial license I can get away with a mere fan based game.
So I introduce a project I was surprised not to have seen...
Anyone like the Tremors movies? I know... a point and click tremors might not work so well.. however, using the system I have devised a way to make it a sort of RPG with point and click elements and precalculated turn based actions. Basically you'll drive around as Burt Gummer in his truck, hunting graboids and buding your levels to build your base. A definitive score will provoke an end. I've used samples from my DVDs to fill the voices. Since my system cannot support 3d animation at all, I'm stuck to using a 2d cartoony look at the moment. But this will just be for a 1.0 for a laugh. Hopefully it'll draw some people to more of my work but meh.... I did manage to design a 3d model which I was quite happy with, but exported gifs don't do it much justice so I'm gonna attach it's head here. Still awaiting any reviews of the SOK game I uploaded if anybody checked out the series or anything. Hopefully this little game will be finished in a week. It's part of a whole testing limitations thing I'm doing right now.

Cheer, guys! Is there any way to export your AM game so it can work on Android? I don't have a touch phone with all the cheese grater and bimbly bits, so have no idea how that works. However, the majority of the folk I'd want to give this to use Android. They have laptops with Windows too, but it would be neat if they could open a game online to show people when they're out and about. Also what's the best and SAFEST place to upload files for viewing? I'm thinking of going with HostGator or something like that (As I'm sure like most things, if you want it safe and decent; you're gonna have to pay.

I've used many Host servers and the 2nd best I found was HostGator. My first choice is just too expensive unless you have a business that thrives on the web.
AM has an option for saving your game as HTML, but it's only good if you didn't do any vbscripting. By exporting as HTML, you can use this on an Android.

Neato. It just encourages making a few more simpler games for release for when I have a commercial license. Just putting the finishing touches on this Tremors tribute now. Tried to finish a game in a week, but I've had a few days just sorting things out for the years schedule etc parenting and other stuff. :D Is there a special way to export to use on android? Any external software to convert the script for any reason? Or do you just copy a script to a webpage and upload the pics and icons to accessible folders online?

You upload it to a website and anyone with a browser would play your game online. It is exported as HTML and Javascript.
Here is an example project: http://www.adventuremaker.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6462

Hi guys. I finished this game technically, within a week... as planned... just a lil' over :) However, I have been having so much trouble debugging it. There is something wrong with my code! MAH! It keeps overloading. I'm gonna link the upload to the file here, if anybody can help with this. Perhaps somebody could configure and help turn it into a web based game which I could put on my site. TBH I would just like to play it through without it crashing. The system to it works. As far as I know. If somebody gets the chance have a saunter through the code and subs etc... I dunno. It's a short game really, just based on a point system wich makes it a lil longer. Cheers to whoever.

Hi Stitches.

I'll take a look as I have time...I'm judging games this week after work, which has taken up most of my play time. The worse case is that I won't get to it until this weekend. If you can describe the error better that might help me diagnose the issue.

Cheers!

[Update] I loaded and played around through the first terrain map, but never hit an error. It was slow at times between clicks...not sure why. I'm not sure of what I am supposed to be doing in the game. I just clicked around and on the different icons. I tried to go to another map by trying to go to the edge of the screen, but wasn't able to get the vehicle moving. There isn't a road to really tell where you can click. I love the graphics and the movie clips when you reach some of the destinations...more of those please! :-)

Btw, you won't be able to put this out as an HTML game. HTML games with plugins won't convert properly. In my opinion, if you want to build html games, the best way to do it is to learn HTML5. It's very powerful and this year it will be recognized as a standard.

Hi. Cheers for playing. The error seems to me to be a faulty line of code or a bad sub or something. When you click certain points of the map, graboids pop up and depending on your ammo, click em to kill em. You buy other stuff from the shop. It's not totally final, Mostly finished as far as game play goes, didn't wanna upload a huge file full of videos though with it being a little screwy. For my it just sort of... overloads and crashed out when I *activate the graboids. As for HTML, that's a bummer, but it'll be reet. Maybe this game (to avoid copyright bothers :v ) will be just for us on the AM boards eh ;) It could turn into a meme game haha! just add little bits to it if you have the time and re upload. Spit-ballin' and all that deedlydee! Oh iif you wanna try to get further with little effort there is a test game cheat. (do not read further if you don't want it) but if you click the G on the game over screen when you restart and enter the game you'll have 5000 health, 30000 money and a butt load of ammo. It was a way to get further to test the other screen (as I made it quite difficult *dink!)
Peace.
