The Maze 3D adventure game (demo)

Postby Candle » Tue Apr 03, 2007 3:34 pm

this is just the first level and still has a lot for me to do on it but just wanted someone to test it and how it runs on their computer?
You start ou in the maze with a crowbar and later you can get the 45 .
Find all the keys and rooms and one has the exit in it. :)
If look like you are stuff and can't move just press the c key to crouch and should be able to move again.
The < & > keys make the room brighter or darker.
Please let me know how it runs for you!!
Oh ya watch out for the zombies..............

I tried

I tried it, but couldn't get through it because the corridors are so-so similar :? But I like the idea of making a game like this, propably you could improve the gameplay with adding more action, or if you don't like that, some nice level-design-elements like large rooms, other objects, etc. And some charachteristic music would also make the player stay in the maze for longer time.
The thing I really loved was the menu-design, it's very nice.

Hi Candle,

It crashes on Vista

I have dual boot so I will try it on XP.

Specs:

- Intel Dual Core 6600 - 2.40 Mhz
- 2 Gb RAM
- Asus ATI XTX1950 - 512 Mb

RESULT: 34 FPS

Kind regards,

ShAdOwHuNtEr

Yes it won't run on Vista do to the new DirectX 10.
Only under vista.. and DirectX 9.c

Should I add better weapons? or leave them as is?
I will add some NPC's that will offer you hints in the maze .
Maybe give you things too.

Hi Candle,

Got 34 FPS, quite poor I think... maybe I need to change some settings cause with my XTX1950 it should blast the walls out :D

Ran pretty smooth but startup was for my taste too long. Given I use a mirror 1 with 3 SATA drives it will be even longer on a regular configuration.

On exit I thought the system crashed but it did return to the main menu after some scary seconds

Anyhow well crafted Candle, which engine did you use ? I liked the startup background a lot too 8)

Kind regards,

I'm using the fpsc engine so load times can be long.
Your getting the best that I think you can with it right now.
I'm going to speed up the player some so that will help with the moving in the game.
The FPS there is not much i can do about that and not have any fun in the game. lol
The exit does take some time but it is clearing everything out of memory so thats why the long wait.
