The past and the future

Postby The Librarian » Mon Dec 31, 2007 6:58 pm

As the new year approaches, I always like to think back.

I started making graphics (sprites) for games on a Commodore 64 in 1987. Those had to be programmed pixel by pixel. I knew then this was going to be big, but I'm still amazed at how fast computer graphics has developed. It's only been 20 years! What will games look like in 20 years time? What are your ideas? What do you dream about?

For me, I dream of realtime games with the high resolution quality of still rendered images.

5 hours to countdown over here. I'm going to switch off my computer and have a party with some good oldfashioned Dutch "oliebollen" (doughnutty kinda things) and champagne. May all your gamedreams come true in 2008!
