Hurricane Ike is very powerful and one its way through there...Those poor ppl...!~ There are some Tens of thousands that are refusing to leave..Anyone else watching this..?
Hundreds of thousands of homes are going to be destroyed..and at this point the Municipality says theyre on their own..now..
The reporter who was reporting the story...was standing in the midst of it..but for her to do so...a camera man had to hold her feet down..can u imagine..:P

I'm not from Texas, I'm from 'God Knows' (according to my profile)... :)

I hadn't actually heard about this until now. Let's hope nobody gets hurt...

Dude, in every hurricane someone is killed :(

Even Category 1s, and this was a strong Category 2.

Thank god I do not live in Texas or New Orleans. In 100 years (scientists state) that Louisiana will be officialy underwater. :(
My sig changes more often than Doctor Who (see your national BBC channel) regenarates into new melancholy actors. Oh look, Matt Smith! Gerard Butler! Colin Mochrie! That wolf from Twilight: New Moon!

This was a category 3..but by the time it hit shore, was a Category 1..There we're 50 ft waves on the ocean..but thankfully enough, it has come to pass, and has headed North now..I have only heard of destruction, no fatalities..as of yet..Here's hoping it just dies off..~

And I totally agree..about not living in New Orleans..they just finished cleaning up after Hurricane Katrina...and now just weeks ago..Hurricane Gustoff..Horrible weather conditions in the South sometimes..
