What music do you listen to for inspiration when designing !

Postby MRM2811 » Wed Jan 07, 2009 3:12 pm

Well,

I like to list to Linkin Park, Live and sometimes Evanesence.
For some reason they get my creative juices flowing ...

What about you ?
Just PM me three things, a location, a time period and a item.

I will send you back a story line.

I hear about... everything. I adore Anathema (Metal/Alternative). Not too hardcore and they make you travel :P

~~didn't mean to swear~~ a lot of many bands... depends on for what inspiration do I look for. Mainly Elend (classical music combined with grunts and such), Immediate Music (monumental film songs they have...) and all sorts of gothic/black/industrial metal (currently Pain, Dope Stars Inc., Latexxx Teens, and many others).

But must of the time music just draws my attention away from inspiration, so I work in silence. I have enough own melodies in my head to provide a source of thoughts :)

While designing a game or creating artwork for it, I usually listen to music that I could use for the game; mostly epic orchestral pieces that are free to use in noncommercial projects.

I actually like U2 and Greenday (although besides most other people who posted in this topic, American Idiot is offensive yet true...) as well as sometimes Johnny Cash(country music)...
My sig changes more often than Doctor Who (see your national BBC channel) regenarates into new melancholy actors. Oh look, Matt Smith! Gerard Butler! Colin Mochrie! That wolf from Twilight: New Moon!

My music library is mostly Christian music. I like TobyMac, but I also like Chris Rice. One is a rapper, except his stuff is actually musical, and the other... I'm not sure what to call his genre because no one listens to it any more. The only secular music I have is Allan Sherman's album, "My Son the Nut". Absolutely hilarious.

Tiesto works great for me. Also Offspring or some great movie-game soundtrack.

Nice music selection Jaked. :D

Hmmm... Just some

I like Ludicrus and Soulja Boy for rap.

I LOVE! Modest Mouse, (Rock) Best band ever. Know every single word in most songs in the last two albums. Anything rock is awsome.

What the Crap News wrote: In other news, rap star Soulja Boy was arrested today, having been charged with murder. The victim was reported to be the English language, aged approximately 900...

I knew you could never trust a rapper... :P
