A couple things I'd like to see in a future version of AM

Postby jfcwilson » Tue Mar 03, 2009 7:54 pm

1. Support for antialiasing of cubic panoramas(they're so choppy).
2. Support for a larger range of graphics cards to run video-heavy panoramas.
3. Support for larger resolutions, such as 2304x1536.

Thanks,
James

I agree with every one of those! Make it so!

Chickens, that is already mentioned and unfortunately, you can't do that, since microsoft requires several thousand dollars and their own kit to create games for their platform...

I think I would like to see AM just continue to become a powerful windows adventure gaming tool for PC platforms and not get too far off tangent.

I would like to see cubic panoramic thing to become easier to do, or maybe more options with 3rd person adventure gaming, or more options for arcade style development with sprites and collision detection, or simply adding the ability to have global arrays. There's a lot that of enhancements that can be done that would further enrich adventure games that we make today.

The global arrays problem can be bypassed for now by using an INI saving system, as long as you save the arrays everytime a game save takes place. That's why I 'm working with Imari on a custom save/load system.

As for the sprite collision detection, The code for that is simple, so you can write some code to do that or even a plugin. In my Mobility Xtreme plugin there's a sort of location tracking code working with coordinates, which with a little tweaking could become the code you need.

I know. I created a procedure for saving values in a delimited string and then using a function to extract the values for a workaround, but I would still like to see global arrays just to make it a more complete application.

I'm not familiar with this plugin. I'd love to try it out! :)

Yeah, but that's for Xbox Arcade (I do have the XNA Studio with silver membership which is free) and in order to add and play your games on you 360 you have to pay an additional amount of money for some other memberships...

Reneuend, you will find the plugin here

Yes, 2.0 should be the latest. Dunno if the X variable problem is fixed, if not ask me to upload a newer version

I would still like to see the first two happen ((1) Support for antialiasing of cubic panoramas, (2) Support for a larger range of graphics cards to run video-heavy panoramas). With those two (and a bit more cooperation from my rendering program) I could really do some cool stuff. :)

Id like to see a way to create flash games, but without having to know scripting. Like making basic room escape games or point and click games only in flash. But I know that isnt possible.
