PNG: why is it not supported?

Hi,

Is there any techncial reason PNG in not supported?
Cause it'd be great to have PNG and, even better, motion PNG support.

Oh, and(off topic) I wondered whay AM's cubic panorama's are so choppy, while those made with, say, Pipmak, are not?

I would like to see support for PNG with transparency, too.
All images that I have to convert from transparent PNG's to transparent GIFs lose a lot of their quality.

Definitely agree as well..Alot of programs support PNG, so it's nothing to work on it and save..Instead I have to open up gimp or whatever--having to resave as GIF [lost quality]...I'm not crazy about working in it in gimp...Other programs I have don't support GIF but they do PNG....

Yes, I'm waiting for it too! Gif has a poor quality. That is why I ain't create TPP games.

Exactly! As far as I know, Wintermute Engine (freeware too) perfectly works with png pictures! City Interactive created adventure TPP "Art of Murder" with this engine, and it was a perfect work! Please, Png, png, png once again! Gif sucks! :(
