Math Careers Project

Postby time-killer-games » Thu Mar 10, 2011 3:30 pm

I have a math project due next week and it's about math careers. I have to interview someone with a math related career. The career I chose to interview is a software designer. So my fellow AM software designers, would any of you like to be my interview? (I'd preffer an admin/code master/VIP to do the job) Once I choose someone for the interview I'll have to ask them several personal questions about them and their software programming.

Thanks for everything!

I"m not exactly a designer, but a IT contractor that programs in whatever language is needed for the job that I have skills in.

As far as math goes, I did more with math when I worked 10 years with computer numeric controlled machines (CNC). Programming is more to do with logic unless you're working in a specific part of the industry that requires math.

I think someone like ShadowHunter would be far more interesting as he built the Particle Engine plugin. He'd be my first choice.

You're welcome to ask me if you get to the bottom of the barrel! :)

Thanks! glad to hear you can help.

(you've already answered some of this)
1: Explain a brief background of yourself, your schooling, and a basic job description.
2: What did you do (job-wise) before starting your current work with programming?
3: How do you use math in your programming?
4: What mathimaticl concepts do you use on a regular basis?
5: Where did you learn the math you know in order to be successful?
6: what is the nature of your programming? (responsibilities, day-to-day activities)
7: What schooling/training was required to bring you where you are today with programming?
8: What opportunities for advancement are there?
9: How might this job w/ programming change your future?
10: Last but not least, what are your potential earnings?

Once again thank you for your time Reneuend! Your a great help. :)

@Mrs Jamison (my math teacher) if your reading this, Hi!
